Northwest Dane Senior Services

NWDSS is continuing to deliver meals and has seen a slight increase as some of the regular congregate folks are getting home delivered. It has educated all volunteers and sent them with a letter stating they are an essential volunteer for vulnerable older adults needing food. The Care Van bus service can take three people maximum at one time clients to the grocery store locally.  NWDSS Case Manager, Vicki, and Paulette Glunn are doing the best they can to continue to check in, coordinate essential services such as transport to doctors visits, etc.  Please know NWDSS is working and can be a resource, however the center is closed to the public.

All Adult Day Program clients are staying home effective this week as some scheduling and coordination had to be handled. NWDSS is applying for grants and asking for any donations to help us get through this crisis as the adult day program is a main source of our monthly income. 

NWDSS' dedicated staff and volunteers are committed to providing ongoing support to the best of their ability and are grateful for any support they can receive to assist them during this unpredictable time.

6:8 will be operating as a clearing-house for needs in our community to be requested as well as a landing place for volunteers to be matched with those needs.  There are 2 forms and other resources on our website (www.MakingServicePersonal.org) and we are directing people there if they need assistance, are willing/able to help, or need info.  6:8 is also taking requests by phone or text (608) 561-8468 or email 68@MakingServicePersonal.org.  We have volunteers who can speak Spanish when needed.

6:8, powered by the generosity of donors, is providing financial aid for families and individuals financially affected by the COVID-19 Crisis.  Though 6:8 typically does not give out financial assistance, we are seeing a need in our community to do so for this crisis.  Our motivation is that a financial boost during this time could prevent a downward spiral into poverty; give hope and continued stability. 

What we are asking from you:

1. The more Donations we receive the more people we can help in our community. - Please consider re-gifting your COVID Stimulus money or making a donation of any amount yourself, also sharing this with other potential donors.

2. If you or someone you know is financially impacted by the COVID-19 Crisis - Fill out the application or share out to your connections/employees/patrons/co-workers/friends/people involved in your organizations/business to encourage people to apply.

Heights Unlimited

Heights Unlimited is trying to keep services fluid enough to quickly respond to changes resulting from COVID-19.
* For the week of March 23, Heights Unlimited is maintaining current hours of Tuesday 4-6:30 p.m. and Wednesday 9-10 a.m. for curbside service only. 

* Heights Unlimited decided in early March to terminate Wednesdays due to the low number of client visits. March 25 will be the final Wednesday service day.
* The clothes closet is closed to clients. However, appointments for clothing may be requested through the Facebook page or by calling 608-767-3663 and leaving a message and contact information.
Services are subject to change at any time. New or extended hours  will be posted on the Heights Unlimited Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/heightsunlimited/) as soon as they're implemented.

St. Aloysius Church

St. Aloysius Church is continuing to make calls reaching out to all parishioners to offer services and to help them feel connected in this time of isolation. Fr. Miguel is live streaming Sunday Masses and they are offering faith discussion with their priests on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings. The website is: www.divinemercy-parish.org/

St. Aloysius Church is also having a concert dedicated to all those affected by the COVID-19 Virus. The concert will feature Ben Ruefer, Kendra Breunig and Marrae Chaillier. They will be singing beautiful songs appropriate to this season of Lent and the difficult times we are living through. This is an event for the entire family. The public can watch the performance live through our website, on Friday, March 27, at 7 p.m.
