SP School District Breaks ground on Merrimac expansion


The Sauk Prairie School District broke ground on its $65 school improvement project last Wednesday. While most of the funds will be utilized for an expansion and renovation of Sauk Prairie High School, the referendum also authorized the expansion of Merrimac Community Charter School. In the past 12 years, the student population of Merrimac Community Charter School has tripled. This expansion will bring all students back under one roof and provide wonderful new learning and community spaces for students and families. An addition to the north includes four new classrooms. An addition to the south includes a gymnasium, new student restrooms, and an expanded kitchen.
