COVID-19 testing available at Bridges Elementary on Thursday, June 11

Sauk County Public Health, in partnership with the Wisconsin National Guard, will be conducting drive-through testing for the COVID-19 virus. This testing will take place this Thursday, June 11 from 11am – 6 pm at Bridges Elementary School, 1200 Broadway St in Prairie du Sac. In order to be tested, you must call the Sauk COVID hotline for an appointment at 608-355-3200.  You do not need to have symptoms to be tested. Please note, this test is not an antibody test and will not tell you if you have previously had COVID and now have recovered.

Vehicles with more than one person in them are welcome, but each person wanting to be tested must have registered ahead of time. This is a drive-thru test, so everyone must remain in their vehicle at all times. The test will take on average 5 minutes and consists of a nasal swab test. Once collected, the sample will be sent to a state-approved lab.

“Sauk County Public Health is working with community partners, residents, and local businesses to contain this epidemic by testing as many people as possible,” said Tim Lawther, Health Officer for Sauk County Public Health. “It is vital that we not only test people but also help them to safely isolate so that this virus can be stopped. This event is another step in the right direction towards our goal of testing over 900 Sauk County residents each week.”
