Local COVID-19 new case rates stay the same

Local COVID-19 new cases continue their long streak of staying at low rates, as the area marks a year since the virus came to the United States.

New cases over a two week period number in the single digits across the area, except the Village of Prairie du Sac, which saw 24 new cases. Contrary to two weeks ago, every municipality saw an increase in cases.

New cases per ten thousand remain low.

The geographical defined by Sauk Prairie School District saw 79 new cases over the past two weeks. The Wisconsin Heights geographical area saw 15 new cases.

Data and methodology

All data comes from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health. Population figures for municipalities come from the United States Census Bureau.

Data is collected by the Star News on Mondays.

Data is reported on a seven day cycle.

School data is collected for the Wisconsin Heights School District on the Thursday prior to publication. School data for Sauk Prairie School District is collected the weekend prior to publication.
