Doherty shines at state

Wisconsin Heights senior standout Kylie Doherty had a tremendous weekend at the WIAA Division 2 state track and field meet. Doherty finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 131 feet, 1 inch. Jefferson’s Ayianna Johnson won the event with a throw of 146-7. Doherty was also 12th in the shot put with a throw of 36-2 ¾. “Kylee had a great weekend at state,” Heights coach Kelly Payne said. “While she was aiming for a higher finish than fourth, there was some very strong competition in Division 2 with four of the top five of all girls discus throwers coming out of Division 2. “All in all, it was a successful way to end her high school track and field career. I am excited that she was able to have all the success she did this year.” Photo by Aaron Jacobus
