Sand was passing through the hourglass on the Middleton 29ers’ Home Talent League championship hopes in Sunday’s Northern Section quarterfinals at Sorenson-Bakken Field.

Middleton faced a two-run deficit against Reedsburg in the home half of the sixth inning, and time was beginning to run out.
