Optimists hear about importance of walking

On September 7, Teresa Bare-Inman, spoke about the importance of and of her love for walking. She has been a Physical Therapy Assistant for 22 years, mostly at Sauk Prairie Healthcare. She states she “feeds on her patient’s passion.” Bare-Inman emphatically reminded everyone of the physics law that, “An object in motion stays in motion” as a major part of her belief in the value of walking. She shared this information: “Exercise is always good medicine! It eases joint pain and stiffness, fight off fatigue, and helps you feel better overall. Want an easy way to get moving? Try walking. You. can do it anywhere and you don’t need much to get started: Just put one foot in front of the other. Although it’s a simple workout, walking brings big benefits...it can help you slim down and stay at a healthy weight. That’s important because extra pounds place added stress on your old and new joints...Walking also strengthen your muscles and improves your range of motion which can help keep you moving.” Challenging members to start a walking program of their own she gave everyone a walking plan and has been sending out emails checking in on members to see how they are doing. Teresa is also the owner of ReTwist-T and her businesses has a Friends of Optimists membership. The Sauk Prairie Optimist club meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 a.m. and on the fifth Wednesdays at noon at the Jaybird Cafe and Spirits. All are welcome to come to meetings!
