George Culver Library adds nature-themed collection

The George Culver Community Library in Sauk City is thrilled to announce that it has added $2000 in conservation-themed books to its collection thanks to a generous grant from the Rooted in Conservation fund through the Community Foundation of South Central Wisconsin. Materials, only a small portion of which are shown below, range from board and picture books for children, to wilderness essays and Wisconsin field guides for adults. Books were selected with input from several area experts in the field, and are available to anyone with a library card through the South Central Library System. “These books are such a wonderful gift for our community, says library director Lisa Renier Thomas. “Whether you’re a backyard birder or someone more experienced in the field, you’ll find something to enjoy.” Anyone stopping in to view the collection in January may enter to win one of four books to take home and keep. A drawing will be held at noon on Friday, January 27 and the winner announced on the library’s Facebook page. Pictured is a small sampling of the library’s new Rooted in Conservation collection.
