Chicago-style hot dogs and more come to Sauk Prairie with Hot Dog Avenue

Hot Dog Avenue, located at the corner of Highways 60 and 12, features a full menu of authentic Chicago-style food. You can find everything from Vienna Beef hot dogs to Italian beefs to Gyros to Maxwell Street Polishes there. Owner Ralph Starzyk, who grew up in the Chicago suburbs, moved his family to Wisconsin Dells in 1998. While living there he realized something was missing—the food he grew up on—and opened the first Hot Dog Avenue in 2010. Last year, de cided to expand, which led to the Sauk City location. Partygoers donned paper Vienna Beef hats and enjoyed the raffle, and Starzyk got to cut the ribbon on his new restaurant surrounded by the Sauk Prairie community. Photo by Joe Block
