Better days ahead?


Emily Van Riper and Wisconsin Heights’ girls softball team dropped a 10-0 decision to Cuba City in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal on May 23. The Vanguards finished the season 9-15. “Overall, this predominately young team came a long way this year as our last five games before the season ender we won or took to extra innings,” Heights manager Scott Wood said. “Having 11 freshmen on the team that took half the starting roster looks like there could be some good softball in the future, but it all depends on how many of them commit themselves to getting stronger and better before next season.
