Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation empowers Middle Schoolers with smoothies

On May 8, sixteen students from Sauk Prairie Middle School took a field trip to Culvers Franchising Headquarters to participate in Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation’s Youth Empowerment Cooking Class--Smoothies Edition. The students were accompanied by Heather Reader and Veronica Gallas.
Lea Culver welcomed the students and talked about the organization and how they continue to give back to the community where their franchise got started. Todd Wuerger, Executive Director of Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation and Stacy Soboleski, Nurse Navigator, explained to the group how the Foundation supports healthy communities through programs like the smoothies class. Sauk Prairie Healthcare Cardiac Rehab Specialist Julie Esser and Clinical Dietician Cierra Peterlin taught participants the fine points of how to make a smoothie.
The Foundation provided each student with a blender (to keep) and recipes so they can now make this healthy treat at home for their families.
The Foundation thanks Culvers Franchising in Prairie du Sac, for hosting this event.
