Sauk Prairie Healthcare honors Dr. Haakon Carlson with bike ride

On June 1, Sauk Prairie Healthcare honored the legacy of Dr. Haakon Carlson by hosting an event that also honored one of his passions--bike riding! Dr. Carlson was a Prairie Clinic physician and founder of the Good Neighbor Clinic. “We had some rain, but that did not deter our spirits,” said Todd Wuerger, Executive Director of the Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation. Approximately 30 people participated and $3,228.75 was raised to support the Good Neighbor Clinic. Riders who donated $125 or more earned a special Sauk Prairie Healthcare bike jersey. 24 people earned a jersey this year! To support the Foundation, go to https://www.saukprairiehealthcare.org/give. Pictured, Dr. Trevver Buss, Peter van der Hagen and Dr. John McAuliffe participated in the second annual Good Neighbor Ride on June 1. Here they are at the turnaround point, a bench that honors Dr. Haakon Carlson. Dr. Carlson’s love of bicycling inspired this ride, a fundraiser for the Good Neighbor Clinic which he helped found.
