August Olson named Optimist Middle Level Leader

August Olson, son of Andria and Scott Olson, was selected as the October Sauk Prairie Optimist Middle Level Leader. In October, Emily Rennicke, Sauk Prairie Middle School Physical Education/Health Teacher, proudly nominated August Olson for the Middle Level Leader award. According to Mrs. Rennicke, “Gus is an exceptional student who shines not only because of his charisma and sense of humor but also due to his thoughtful and inclusive nature. He consistently takes others’ thoughts and feelings into consideration, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment for his peers. Gus’s ability to remain neutral while offering unwavering support makes him a go-to person for everyone and his caring attitude is evident in his daily interactions. Beyond meeting the standard expectations, Gus goes above and beyond by helping others, setting the tone in PE, and ensuring that the class stays on task. Whether he’s greeting classmates, volunteering to help with demonstrations, or cleaning up, Gus leads by example. His presence enriches the classroom, making him truly amazing.” Apart from his academic commitments, August participates in the school musical and show choir. He is very excited about his upcoming role of Gill in Finding Nemo Jr., this year’s Middle School musical, in November. Looking ahead, August plans to continue his musical and theatrical journey in high school by joining the show choir, musicals, and dramas. August hopes to go to college and become a Social Studies Teacher.
