Mazomanie American Legion honors 13 Veterans

The Mazomanie Greening-Buelow American Legion Post #437 honored thirteen Korean and Vietnam military veterans for over fifty years of continuous membership. An Honor Banquet was held October 29, 2024 to acknowledge their service longevity totaling 719 years. John Trager holds the longest membership at 73 years. Other members and their years of post service were: Ben Hodgson 56, Larry Reeve 56, William Ruland 56, Franklin Wahl 56, Fred Wolf 56, Dewey Buttke 54, Ron Norris 53, Rick Kindschi 52, Les Sander 52, Don Williams 52, Harvey Short 52 and Dan Ruegsegger 51 years.
Each long-term member received a Certificate of Continuous Membership signed by the National Commander Vicent Troiola, National Adjutant Dan Wheeler and Post Commander Virgil Smith.
The Honor Banquet was held in historic downtown Mazomanie at the Base Camp Café with entertainment. Chief Crooner Randy Plunkett sang many songs from the 1950s and 1960s.
