Local Scout achieves Eagle rank with improvements to local park

Wesley Himebauch from Prairie du Sac Troop 173 earned Boy Scouts of America’s highest advancement, the Eagle Scout award, and was recognized at a Court of Honor November 27, 2023. 

Sauk Prairie Optimists name Annika Staedler as December Student of the Month

There will not be another December meeting but there will be three meetings in January: January 3 and 17 from 7-8 am at 6:8 and January 31 at noon at the Bank of Prairie du Sac. Penelope Steiner named Sauk Prairie Optimist Middle Level Leader for December


Penelope Steiner is the Sauk Prairie Optimist December Middle Level Leader and the daughter of Timothy and Sarah Steiner. Penelope was nominated by teacher Scott Smith. In his nomination statement he said, “Penelope is an outstanding student who displays an exemplary attitude toward learning and life. Penelope comes to class each day with a positive spirit and a focused mindset and is always willing to help her fellow students. Penelope is a role model for her classmates. Her commitment to learning along with her friendly demeanor embody the spirit of a model student. Penelope is a true leader, and she makes Sauk Prairie Middle School a better place on a daily basis.” Penelope is involved in Show Choir, Middle School Musical, Sources of Strength, and Mentors. Outside of school her activities include dance at Center Stage Dance, Pool Sharks and the High School Marching Band. Her plans after high school are to attend UW-Madison to be a geneticist. Sauk Prairie Solar Schools selling crafts, baked goods


Mother and son, Julia Dellaria-Terrill, left, and Drew Dellaria, right stopped by the Sauk Prairie Solar Schools sales site at the Back Room Gallery, 603 Water St. in Sauk City on Saturday December 2, during the Holly Jolly Grinchmas event. For purchase were handmade ornaments and holiday crafts as well as baked goods and candy stocking stuffers, and Santa’s Trail mix in jars. Goods will now be available at ReTwist-T, 515 Water St., in Sauk City. Sauk Prairie Solar Schools are a citizens group working with the school district in fundraising to put solar panels on Leola Hall, Sauk Prairie High School and Bridges Elementary, as well as the District Administration Building. Optimists finish up baked goods and nuts sale

The club sold baked goods and their famous Terri Lynn nuts. The Sauk Prairie Optimist Club would like to thank all those who bought from the sale and purchased nuts prior to the sale also. Proceeds from both go to supporting youth in the Sauk Prairie community. A special thanks goes to the Bank of Prairie du Sac for hosting the sale.

High School athletics receive AED from Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation grant

Sauk Prairie Healthcare employee Greg Beier understands the importance of having an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) available at all times. In his role as an Athletic Trainer at Sauk Prairie High School, he saw a need to have an AED that he could take with him for off-campus team events.

Wisconsin Heights Community Sharing Tree to be held December 16th

The Wisconsin Heights Community Sharing Tree and people of the Heights communities know that not all families have family support available and at times need some help.  The organizers of the Sharing Tree have collected gifts that they believe the area children would like.
