Sauk Prairie Optimists nut sale

 

Narcan training

Public Health Sauk County has a new free e-learning Narcan training available. This online training is self-paced and available anytime. It is for all community members, businesses, and organizations in our area. In this training, you will learn the signs of overdose and how to use Narcan Nasal Spray.

Optimists name Elio Piccinelli as Middle Level Leader

Elio Piccinelli, the Sauk Prairie Optimist November Middle Level Leader, is an 8th grader nominated by the Sauk Prairie Middle School Music department.  Mrs. Jennifer Gulsvig Dunn, his choir teacher said, “Elio is a fantastic music student. When he started in 6th grade, he was super quiet and kept to himself.

Pablo Renteria, Jr. named Optimist Student of the Month

Pablo Renteria, Jr, son of Hilda Trevino and Pablo Renteria, Sr., is the November Optimist Sauk Prairie High School Student of the Month. 

At Sauk Prairie’s Holly Jolly, little reindeers played inside at the Tripp Museum

Santa visited the Tripp Museum Saturday during Holly Jolly. He’s a busy guy this time of the year, and on Sunday he was in Black Earth visiting more children. You can find more pictures from the Tripp on pages 10 and 11. Photos from Santa’s Sunday visit to the Black Earth Historical Society can be found on page 9.

Santas planning visits to Black Earth, Mazomanie in upcoming weeks

The Black Earth Historical Society will be hosting their “Santa Open House” on Sunday, December 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Black Earth History Center, 1022 Blue Mounds Street. All are welcome to this free annual community event.

Tree Lighting in Black Earth

 

The Mazomanie Lions Club will host a tree Lighting event on Saturday, December 2nd at 5:30 p.m. at Veterans Park in downtown Black Earth. The tree donated by Westres Tree Farm of Black Earth will be lit to start the Christmas season. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

McFarlane’s receives Rural Advocacy Award, was nominated by SPSD’s Wright

McFarlane Manufacturing received the Rural Advocacy Award from the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance during the organization’s state conference on October 23rd in Wisconsin Dells.

Community gathers for Mazo Star Lighting

Mazomanie’s die-hard community came out to the annual Star Lighting ceremony Sunday night. Although it was cold, windy, and there was snow on the ground, the warmth of the community kept the chill at bay. Shelley Drager was the honorary star lighter this year.
