Dry, woodsy, fruit-infused, full-bodied. After trying what seemed like countless samples of different wines at the Sauk City Wine Walk Oct. 4, I know without a doubt, I’m a Moscato girl. Unless, of course, the wine happens to be a Wollersheim River Gold. That’s my exception.

River Arts Center Gallery features Andy Warhol exhibit

On view: an exhibit featuring original artwork from revolutionary American artist Andy Warhol! This exhibit features nine original screen prints by Warhol, including but not limited to works from his “Cowboys and Indians” series and “Reigning Queens” series. School groups and nonprofit organizations encouraged to attend this free exhibit!

Mazo Lions host child life specialist

Mazomanie Lions Club is happy to invite the general public to hear the guest speaker at their October meeting. Taran Lancaster, a native of Black Earth, a Wisconsin Heights graduate, and a certified child life specialist, will be presenting information about her career at the meeting on Monday, October 7, at 7:00 p.m.

Coffee with a cop

Coffee With a Cop is a monthly meeting with the public between the Black Earth Police Department, in partnership with the Dane County Sherriff’s Office. It is held the 2nd Thursday of each month in the Black Earth municipal building, from 9-11 a.m. Join your neighbors and police officers for conversation and information.

Project Linus ‘Make a Blanket Day’ coming to Arena on October 12th

Project Linus provides love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort through the gift of a new, handmade blanket or afghan created by volunteers “blanketeers.” to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.

VFW offers essay contests

Sauk Prairie Veterans of Foreign Wars Lachmund-Cramer Post 7694 is again sponsoring two academic contests for students in the Sauk Prairie School District. The deadline for both contests is Oct. 31, 2019.

Sample Peruvian cuisine at Park Hall

On Oct. 9, food writer and stylist, chef and Peruvian cuisine specialist, Carlos Olaechea will present an evening entitled Discover Peruvian cuisine. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Park Hall, 307 Polk St. in Sauk City.

St. Al’s holding 40 Days For Life

St. Aloysius Church and School in Sauk City is joining in with volunteer efforts in Madison and around the world by involving students and parishioners in various opportunities during 40 Days for Life this fall.

Chamber no longer holding Holiday Light Parade

This year, the Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to refocus their holiday efforts. They will no longer be hosting a Holiday Light Parade, but instead concentrating efforts to make Holly Jolly Sauk Prairie an even bigger and better event.
