Alyssa Smith and Abby Walz named quarterly Quality Students by Heights Optimists


The Wisconsin Heights Optimist Club hosted the Quality Students of the Second Quarter and their families at their luncheon meeting January 20 at the Old Feed Mill in Mazomanie. Honored were Alyssa Smith and Abby Walz. Smith, the daughter of Troy and Jennifer Smith, is a seventh grader at Wisconsin Heights Middle School. She is a hard worker in class and a friend and help to her classmates. An excellent student, she recently gave a stellar speech on Yellowstone Park. She is a joy to be with. Walz, the daughter of Karen and Duane Walz, is a senior at Heights. She is talented, thoughtful, and a role model for younger students. Walz is a natural leader who has made many contributions in her four years in FFA. The luncheon speaker was Mazomanie Free Library Director Brian Cole. Cole spoke about the long history of the library, starting in 1878, current and future happenings. Heights Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Kindra Zuberbuehler was welcomed as the newest member of Wisconsin Heights Optimist. “Bunco Night” with Mazomanie Lions Club

The Mazomanie Lions Club will be hosting a “Bunco Night” on Saturday, March 4. You must obtain a ticket prior to the event as seats at the tables are limited. The popular game using three dice has four people at each table, with two sets of partners for each game, but partners do not stay together after that.

Vermont Lutheran Church featuring Men’s Meatball Dinner

Mark your calendar! Everyone is invited to attend the Men’s Meatball Dinner at Vermont Lutheran Church, Sunday February 19, 2023. This is a free-will donation fund raiser for the ongoing mission of the congregation. There is one reserved seating, at 11:30 a.m., for 100 diners.

Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation funds a wide variety of projects, in the community and for the hospital and clinics. Some of the receiving organizations are closely aligned with Sauk Prairie Healthcare’s mission. The Good Neighbor Clinic is a great example.
