River Arts features concert, Christmas humor

From the creator of the popular Late Nite Catechism series and more, Vicki Quade brings the reason for the season with “Christmas Bingo” on Sunday, December 18th at 2 p.m. at the Sauk Prairie River Arts Center (105-9th Street, Prairie du Sac, WI). Interspersed between quick bingo games, she keeps the audience laughing with her deadpan takes on Catholic Christmas traditions. Ms. Quade knows how to work the room. Relying on lessons learned from the nuns (here she plays an ex-nun now in charge of the archdiocese’s bingo fundraising department) she uses her ruler for emphasis, never raises her voice, and enlists willing participants regardless of religion. Tickets are $25/adults and $15/students and can be purchased online: www.RiverArtsInc.org/bingo, in person at River Arts on Water (590 Water Street, Prairie du Sac), over the phone at 608-643-5215, or at the door the day of the show. Christmas Bingo is sponsored by Milwaukee Valve.

Cunningham is Middle Level Leader

Evelyn Cunningham is the Optimist Sauk Prairie Middle Level Leader for November. She is an eighth grader and the daughter of Daniel and Kristin Cunningham.  Evelyn was nominated by her core teachers on Team Red who stated, “SPMS eighth grade is proud to present Evelyn Cunningham as an outstanding scholar and leader. Evelyn’s leadership in the classroom is more reserved and her style is to lead by example rather than voice. An acronym at SPMS is S.O.A.R. The “S” represents the word scholar. Evelyn is the embodiment of a scholar. Evelyn’s study habits are great and they are reflected in materials she completes in class. Evelyn’s habits are an example of how if a person pays attention to the small details in class that they connect to an exemplary final product.” At the Middle School Evelyn is involved in show choir, forensics and theater. Outside of school, she is in dance and loves to read and play piano. Evelyn hopes to attend college but is not sure yet what she would like to study.  Pictured: from left, Dan, Evan, Kris and November Middle Level Leader Evelyn Cunningham; Evelyn’s Social Studies teacher Joh Boll, Optimist member Steve Koehler, and Sauk Prairie Middle School Principal, Tricia Rodey on November 16 at the Optimist Club meeting at Jaybird Cafe and Spirits.
