Aaron Clement named Optimist Middle Level Leader

Aaron Clement is the Optimist Sauk Prairie Middle Level Leader for December. He is an eighth grader and the son of Maricel Clement.   Aaron was nominated by his core teachers and they said the dfollowing about Aaron:“ 8th Grade Team Black is proud to present Aaron Clement as the SPMS December Middle Level Leader. Aaron is, first and foremost, a kind, helpful, and positive human with an infectious smile. Students and staff can count on him to be compassionate and supportive when they need a friend. Aaron is a courageous leader who is not afraid to take on challenges and take positive risks. He often rises to the occasion and finds success. Whether it’s being a spelling or math champion, or the lead in the school musical, Aaron accomplishes things and celebrates in a way that inspires and brings joy to his classmates. He is dedicated to his studies, participates actively in class, takes upper-level classes when given the opportunity, and is willing to take a shot at answering challenging questions even when he’s not sure of himself. He is reflective and goal-oriented.  Perhaps most importantly, Aaron is a truly unique individual who is not afraid to be himself which makes him a great model to other middle school students. We look forward to a world with more leaders like Aaron Clement!” At school Aaron is involved with: Math team, the musical, basketball, show choir, forensics, spelling bee and the mentor program. Outside of school, he enjoys solving and making puzzles, reading and listening to music. Future plans include going to college and to study writing, music, or film/documentaries. Heights alum remembered by community and family

Michael and Anna Rose Loger were high school sweethearts. When Anna, a 1995 Wisconsin Heights graduate,  died this fall at the age of 45, her husband, a sixth-grade math teacher in Mount Horeb, faced a string of painful firsts: His first day without her. His first night alone. His first birthday without the love of his life by his side.
