No more alternate side parking for Village of Black Earth

Alternate side parking is no more in the Village of Black Earth, as the board elected at their November meeting to take down the signs and repeal the ordinance. Trustees agreed there were other, better ways to ensure the streets were properly plowed, including the use of a snow emergency.

Arena changes meeting notification policy, adjusts budget

A recommendation was made to approve Ordinance No. 2020-110 to amend Section 2.10.090(a) of the Municipal Code of the Village of Arena, Iowa County, Wisconsin, Relating to Meetings at the Arena Village Board of Trustees November meeting.

Sauk County budget about the same, but property values expected to rise, driving tax bills higher

Sauk County residents won’t see much of a break on their tax bill for next year. However, their property values are also expected to go up.

Village of Arena settles lawsuit filed by interim clerk

At the October meeting of the Arena Village Board, trustees agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by former interim clerk Taylor Scott in May. The village agreed to pay $300 in attorney fees and $178 in filing fees.

Trout Unlimited spoke to the Black Earth Village Board at their September meeting about potential improvements to the stretch of Black Earth Creek running through, and adjacent to, the village.

Prairie du Sac’s Riverwalk Park construction delayed

The Village Board of Prairie du Sac elected to give G Pro Excavating & Landscaping a one month extension to complete work on the Riverwalk Park. The work was planned to be completed by September 30, and now must be done by October 30. G Pro had asked for an extension to November 30.

Mazomanie holding open house on updated comprehensive plan

The Village of Mazomanie will host an open house on a proposed amendment and update to the Village comprehensive plan from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the Community Building, 9 Brodhead St.

Mazomanie not charging late fees on utility bills because it would cost the village money

The Village of Mazomanie has elected to not charge late fees on delinquent utility bills. Come November, however, the late utility bill will be passed on to the resident’s tax bill by the county. This was discussed at the board’s September 28 meeting.

Prairie du Sac budgeting for new hydrovac
