After the subject of potentially combining police contracts with Black Earth came up at the last Mazomanie Village Board Meeting, Village President Gary Harrop approached Black Earth’s Terry Moyer.

Prairie du Sac Municipal Utility is getting into the holiday spirit and giving back to the community.

Arena Police Chief Nick Stroik announced at last week’s village board meeting that he and Sergeant Wyatt Miller are going to be working part time starting November 15.

After spending some time with the Finance Committee, the full budget was presented to the Sauk City village board for the first time at their meeting Tuesday, November 14.

The Village of Prairie du Sac made construction on Well #4 official by signing several task orders with Strand. Construction on the well building will occur in the Fall of 2024.

At their November 14^th meeting, the Mazomanie Village Board discussed the skyrocketing costs of their police contract with the Dane County Sheriff’s Department.

It’s budget time for local governments, and at their November 7 monthly meeting the Black Earth Village Board wrestled some more, as they do every year, with their budget. Small rural municipalities are always stretched thin on the budget front, especially as they see expenses rise and revenues stay flat.

The Village of Mazomanie upped its contribution to Northwest Dane Senior Services (NWDSS) after wrestling extra funds from the budget at their Finance Committee meeting on Wednesday, November 1^st.

The village board of Prairie du Sac faced water rate increases for their residents no matter what they decided to do with well #5. In the end the board chose the lower priced option for their new municipal well, coming in at $2.7 million for a 500-foot deep well with polyphosphate treatment to reduce the iron content.
