Village of Arena reviews audit of last year’s finances

At the September meeting of the Arena Village Board, the board approved the consent agenda parts B and C, and withheld part A at the request of trustee Paul Pustina for separate approval.  Part A included the minutes of the August 4 and special August 18 meetings.  Pustina asked a question on the August 18 meeting, then it was approved.

Black Earth fills two vacant board seats

The Village of Black Earth has two new trustees, filling vacancies initially caused by Pat Troge’s resignation in the winter and Matt Kahl filing the Public Works Director position. Jared Brammerson and Scott Patchin will serve until next April, when the seats go up for election. 

Wisconsin River Bridge for Great Sauk State Trail is a go

The Sauk County board voted in agreement to hire Geotechnical Services to build a bridge over the Wisconsin River, which would connect the Great Sauk State Trail with the proposed Walking Iron Trail in Dane County. The hiring will cost $145,955. Sauk and Dane counties have already agreed to contribute $40,000 each for the initial process.

Sauk County Board to limit public input at meetings

Sauk County Board meeting participants will now only be able to share their opinions on agenda items.

The board voted at its August meeting to limit public comments to only topics to be discussed at that particular meeting. Prior to the change, anyone could comment on anything.
