Black Earth making progress on new creek access

Efforts to make a village park from a few village of Black Earth creekside lots took a step forward last week when the Department of Natural Resources Board prohibited hunting on the property.

In last week’s front page article concerning legislation to aid those in mobile home parks after 30-day notice, the local park was incorrectly identified as being in Sauk City. It is in Roxbury Township. The Star News regrets the error.

Local elected officials are coming together to help some Sauk City residents. Representative Dave Considine (D-Baraboo), Rep. Sondy Pope (D-Mt. Horeb), and Sen. Sauk Prairie Healthcare delivers 402 babies in 2021

Sauk Prairie Healthcare delivered 402 babies in 2021 — the highest number of births in the hospital’s 65-year history. The large number of deliveries is a significant increase over 2020 when 350 babies were delivered, and an exciting outcome given the declining number of births in the extended area over the last five years.
