Three Dane County executives with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services have filed a non-party brief with the Wisconsin Supreme Court in support of Governor Tony Evers’ extension of the “Safer At Home” order that keeps much of the state’s economy shut down until late May. 

What is a child growing up in a large family, a former assembly line worker and CNA, a retired special needs and elderly advocate and a person who sews called? (This is not a joke!)

COVID-19 has limited or closed many public and private services in Wisconsin, and Public Libraries have not been immune. That has changed slightly with Gov. Tony Evers’ most recent Safer at Home Order.  

Despite a month of increasing deaths in their counties, Dane and Sauk County residents are relaxing their compliance with the Safer at Home order, according to data from the University of Maryland. The University used anonymized and aggregated location data from mobile devices and other sources.

Thousands of people turned out at the Wisconsin statehouse in Madison to protest Gov. Tony Evers’ Safer at Home order on April 24, the original date the order was scheduled to end. 

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced Dane Arts will administer the newly created DANG! (Dane Arts Need Grant) program. This grant program will provide $15,000 of immediate support for working artists to help offset costs and lost revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the DANG!

In the April 2nd issue, Kelly Petrowski, Tower Rock principal, appeared in an article and photo in reference to being awarded the Outstanding Administrator Award by the Wisconsin Title 1 Association. 

It’s been about a month since Wisconsin and many other states adopted isolation practices to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Last week, Gov. Tony Evers extended his Safer from Home order to May 26 due to continuing concerns about the virus.
