The dredging of polluted sediments in Gruber’s Grove Bay in Lake Wisconsin has gone back to the drawing board, much to the dismay of residents in the Merrimac area.

Incumbents dominate in election, very few contested races

Incumbents ruled the roost in an otherwise quiet election across the area. In the few contested races there were, incumbents easily topped their challengers. One last-minute campaign happened in Sauk Prairie for the school board.Here are the results:

Mazomanie’s Library Director retiring after 20 years

After 20 years as Director of the Mazomanie Free Library, Audrey Johnson is retiring. In this period the job changed from simply checking out books to so much more. Under Johnson’s directorship Wi-Fi was introduced for library patrons, and workstations with computers were placed in the library for community use.

Election results

In Sauk City, there will be a fresh face on the village board, as Lise Meyer Kobussen’s 335 votes earned her 3rd place and just enough to get elected. Incumbent Jeff Boll finished with the most votes at 361, and Amy Krumenauer came in second with 356. Season Horak finished in fourth and out of the race with 232 votes.
