Facebook and Google have become the de facto regulators of news and speech – deciding what content people see and when.

It was so hot in Raleigh, North Carolina last week that it seemed like you could hear the sun. It was like a movie in which the sun was a character, and I was talking about it, only to pause mid-sentence and gasp: “He’s standing right behind me, isn’t he?!” We were visiting my little sister, who recently gave birth to her first child.

Curtis Wood Haseltine owned the large farm covering the Mazomanie marsh from 1848 until his death in 1897. It was organized as the Wisconsin Central Stock Farm from 1893 until about 1910.

In the July 14 edition, the article “Black Earth purchases land for substation” was incorrect. The Village of Black Earth chose to “pursue” property for the substation project. The Star News regrets the error.
