Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming team fell to Monroe/New Glarus, 119-51, on Sept. 12.

The Eagles’ 200-meter medley relay team of Savannah Acker, Kaylee Oleson, Carly Schroeder and Ava Flanagan finished second.

Sauk Prairie’s 200-meter freestyle relay team of Oleson, Flanagan, Kate Himebauch and Acker was second.

Eagles’ spikers continue to shine

The best of the best descended on the Milwaukee Sting Center last weekend for arguably the state’s finest regular season volleyball tournament.

And Sauk Prairie proved it can play with anyone and everyone in Wisconsin.

Eagles have a blast on Senior Night

Sauk Prairie’s girls tennis team has a large and gifted senior class this season.

And that group celebrated Senior Night in style on Sept. 14, when they rolled to a 5-2 win over Baraboo.

The Eagles won three of four singles matches and two of three doubles competitions.

Sauk Prairie gets back on track

It had been a long time coming for the Sauk Prairie Eagles football team.

Winning a road game, that is.

After spotting host Oregon a touchdown lead, the Eagles checked another item off their to-do list last Friday night.

Heights boys XC team 16th at River Valley

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys cross country team finished in 16th place at the 20-team River Valley Invite last Saturday.

Madison West won the 20-team race with 62 team points. Middleton was second with 117, while DeForest (121), Madison La Follette (119) and Sun Prairie East (143) rounded out the top five.

Hoping for a turnaround

Carston Lamont (above), Drew Jacobus (right) and Wisconsin Heights’ boys soccer team dropped a pair of games last week.

The Vanguards (1-4) will next host Richland Center Thursday at 5 p.m.

Better days ahead

Reed Adler (11), Tyler Boehner (2) and Wisconsin Heights’ football team fell to Abundant Life/St. Ambrose, 54-6, last Saturday.

The Vanguards (0-2) host North Crawford Friday at 7 p.m.

Sauk Prairie swimmers 4th at Baraboo

Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming team finished in fourth place at the five-team Baraboo Relays last Saturday.

Monona Grove won the event with 454 points, while Baraboo was second with 224 points. The Eagles finished with 168 points.

Sauk Prairie’s girls XC team 8th at RV Invite

Sauk Prairie’s girls cross country team finished in eighth place at the 16-team River Valley Invite last Saturday.

Madison West won the girls’ race, finishing with just 39 points. Dodgeville/Mineral Point was second (97), while Waunakee (106), DeForest (135) and Sun Prairie East (149) rounded out the top five.

Rough week for tennis Eagles

tory over Brodhead, then a 25-17, 25-14 dismantling of Portage and a 25-12, 25-10 rout of host Edgerton.

That set the stage for a rematch with Madison Memorial, and this time Sauk Prairie got the better of the Spartans.
